Common Types Of Fuses

Plug-in fuse: It is commonly used in 380V and below voltage grade line end, as a distribution feeder or electrical equipment short-circuit protection.

Spiral Fuse: The top cover of the melt has a fuse indicator, once the melt fuse, the indicator immediately pops up, can be observed through the glass hole on the porcelain cap, it is used in the machine tool electric control equipment. Spiral Fuse. Breaking current is large, can be used for voltage grade 500V and below, current level 200A below the circuit, for short-circuit protection.

Closed fuse: Enclosed fuses are divided into filler fuses and no filler fuses, as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4. There is a filler fuse general with a square porcelain tube, quartz sand and melt in the inside, breaking capacity is strong, for the voltage level of 500V below the current level of 1KA below the circuit. Non-filler sealed fuse will melt into the closed cylinder, the breaking capacity is slightly smaller, for 500V below, 600A below the power grid or distribution equipment.

Quick fuse: Quick fuse is mainly used for short-circuit protection of semiconductor rectifier or rectifier device. Because of the low overload capacity of semiconductor components. Only in a very short period of time to withstand the larger overload current, so the need for short circuit protection with the ability to quickly fuse. The structure of the quick fuse is the same as that of the packing enclosed fuse, but the melt material and shape are different, it is the tapered melt with V-shaped deep groove which is made by silver slice.

Self-recovery fuse: Metal sodium is used as melt, at room temperature with high conductivity. When the circuit has a short circuit fault, the short circuit current produces high temperature so that the sodium is rapidly vaporized, the vapor state of sodium appears high resistance, which limits the short-circuit current. When the short-circuit current disappears, the temperature drops, and the metal sodium restores the original good conductive property. Self-recovery fuse can only limit short-circuit current, can not really divide the circuit. The advantage is that there is no need to replace the melt, which can be reused.
