Core role:

Overload protection: When the line current exceeds a certain proportion of the rated current for a long time, the fuse will delay melting, protecting cables and equipment from overheating damage.

Short circuit protection: When a sudden and extremely large short-circuit current occurs in the circuit, the fuse will quickly melt in a very short time (within a few milliseconds), cutting off the fault current and preventing electrical fires and equipment from being destroyed by huge electric forces.

Isolation function: After melting, it forms a visible and safe disconnection point in the circuit, ensuring personal safety during backend equipment maintenance.

Working Principle:

It contains one or more copper melts inside, surrounded by quartz sand. When overload or short circuit occurs, the melt melts due to overheating. The generated arc is quickly extinguished by the cooling and adsorption of quartz sand, thereby safely disconnecting the circuit. The filling of quartz sand ensures its extremely high breaking ability.

High breaking capacity: It can safely break short-circuit currents up to 120kA, far higher than miniature circuit breakers (MCBs), and can cope with harsh industrial distribution environments.

Unpacking and inspection of fuses

After opening the box, the first thing to check is whether the nameplate of the fuse matches the markings on the packaging box, and then check whether the fasteners on the fuse are loose.

Or if it falls off, check if there are cracks or fissures in the ceramic tube of the fuse, if there is any leakage of quartz sand inside the fuse, and if the fuse has been exposed to water.

If immersion or invasion occurs, the fuse cannot be put into use and the manufacturer should be contacted in a timely manner.
